Student Services An academic appeal is a formal request brought by a student to change a grade or to challenge a penalty imposed for violation of standards of academic integrity such as plagiarism or cheating. A request to change a grade or to challenge a penalty must be made within twelve months of the action. A grade may only be changed by the instructor of record or by a full-time instructor in the absence of the instructor of record or by the Academic Appeals Committee. An academic appeal will be considered if there is evidence that one or more of the following conditions exist:
This person provides day-to-day management and coordination of Finance and Administration operations. The following functions report to this position: She or he will lead the financial administration, business planning, and budgeting.
Participate in the ongoing strategic planning process as an integral member of the executive leadership team. Engage with the other vice presidents to align financial management with short- and long-term financial planning and projections.
Financial and Operational Management Oversee budgeting, and the implementation of budgets, so as to monitor progress and present operational metrics.
Ensure that finance staff maintains financial record systems in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, and monitor the use of all funds. Manage cash flow and forecasting; direct all financial, project-based, and departmental accounting.
Coordinate all audit activities. Evaluate and oversee all benefits negotiations, thus providing the most competitive packages for AASCU employees.
Review all formal finance- HR- and IT-related procedures, processes, and administration, recommending improvements to the systems in place and managing the systems going forward. The leadership role involves working closely with individuals on AASCU member campuses, and being part of a team of highly skilled professionals who work closely together to serve our members.
The position requires an individual who can envision, develop and implement a collection of new signature political engagement programs and projects, as well as reviewing and supporting existing and ongoing programs and initiatives. The incumbent supervises and manages one program manager in the ADP initiative, and is responsible for all civic learning and engagement-related programs and initiatives.
This position is funded entirely by external donations and grants.
Works collaboratively with the Vice President of the ALC division, ALC Division members, and other Divisions at AASCU, as well as our campus members and external partners in order to Identify opportunities and obtain funding for new signature programs, service opportunities, including pilot projects Review, strengthen and further institutionalize existing programs and services Identify and develop new strategic partnerships Develop and maintain a long-term plan for a center for civic learning and engagement Routinely communicate with presidents, provosts and senior leadership at AASU institutions.
Programmatic Management and OversightProvides leadership for the implementation, supervision and assessment of all civic engagement national meetings, initiatives and projects, including: As part of this work, ALC creates a variety of externally-funded initiatives and programs to support AASCU institutions in the creation of cohesive and integrated programs for students.
The role will focus on grant compliance, reporting, invoicing and monitoring grant deliverables, and controlling budgets to ensure that funds are spent appropriately. The individual hired for this role will have at least 5 years of experience managing grants in a university setting, possess excellent accounting skills, and will have a strong understanding and interest in higher education issues.
Assists in the development, implementation, supervision of Student Success related initiatives. Budget and Accounting Management: Develops and monitors budgets for funded projects.
Provides regular budget oversight, ensures that spending is in conformance with project guidelines. Ensures that indirect costs are appropriately calculated, according to negotiated overhead rates and restrictions, Develops budgets for grant proposals in close collaboration with program staff, Cost-out activities by obtaining accurate estimates from program staff and vendors; manages RFQ processes when needed, Monitors and controls budgets to ensure that funds are spent according to project schedules and that staff are adhering to budget limits, Produces monthly variance reports for program staff, Creates general ledgers and invoices for each grant according to the disbursement schedule, Works with auditors to complete annual audits and resolve issues that may arise, Ensures that AASCU adheres to the highest ethical standards by maintaining accuracy, transparency, and accountability for all grants.Trauma-Related Articles from Counseling Today.
